Clay is a regular guy who doesn’t like to talk about himself. However, we as his family are happy to talk about him. He’s a likeable oaf who is passionate about cars, computers, camping, video games, beer, cooking, and Lauren. His hygiene is generally passable. Strangely, everybody who meets him seems to love him.

Everybody who meets him seems to love him and we all like to give him big hugs.
Clay: Rakish good looks combined with sublime goofiness and a great sense of humor–how else could you hang with our family or Lauren’s!!! They’re too much fun. Glad we got to meet them. Remember Winn’s working at Game Stop so you have permission to test out the new games (if Lauren approves)
Clay – he is a gentle and loving soul who I am proud to call family. I am blessed to have him as my nephew.

You WILL beat this no matter how lousy you feel during treatment. It’s the outcome that matters the most. So keep fighting!! God is with you every step of the way. So are the prayers from your loved ones and good friends.

I am a friend of your Aunt, Cyndy Kirkland, here in Austin, Texas. I’m excited that I have been asked, by Cyndy, to join your many friends and family in prayer for your full recovery. I have also asked my church family to keep you on their pray list. This church believes in the power of prayer and healing, so you have a strong army of Christians lifting you up in prayer daily.
Briefly, to let you know, I am a cancer suvivor, and in Sept. 2008, it will be 3 years since I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I had to go through several surgeries and chemo, and lost my hair after my first treatment, which was very hard for me to deal with. You know how girls are about their hair!
What got me through my battle with cancer, was my faith and trust in Jesus Christ. From the moment I was diagnosed, Christ gave me total peace, and assurance that everything was going to be okay. My first and greatest fear was thinking I had to fight this battle of cancer alone, being single. But you know what!…..Christ knew my needs, and showed me that I had many wonderful friends that loved and cared for me, and I did not have to go through this alone. One friend is your Aunt Cyndy.
I will keep you in my daily prayers for complete healing, for your doctors, and all you and Lauren’s needs will be met, so you can just relax and concentrate on getting better.
It is exciting to already see the many blessings you and your family have already seen and felt from your many friends and readers who have responded to your needs. I also pray that everyone that goes through this journey with you, will be touched my God’s gentle and loving hands.

Yeah, I got the experience of working pretty closely with Clay this year ’cause he’s the computer tech at one of the schools I work at. He’s a pretty alright guy…and digs a mac, so that makes him alright. But he always locks his desk which annoys me because he has the goods in there! I always have to get my key to get in his desk to get cables, adapters, or beer when I need it.

So sorry to hear of this news! We are praying for you. I’m so glad to know that this is the “good” kind of cancer to have, so I guess that’s a thought you have to hold onto while you endure all this chemo. I am mom Bedsole’s friend from nursing school & we’ve met maybe once, but I feel like I know you from these blogs & Linda & Glenn. Hang in there!
Clay is a treasure of a son in law. He is extraordinarily gentle and kind, while being full of strength and resolve. A great sense of humor and a selflessness make him so winsome. We all thank God for him .
