Clay describes her as an incredibly loving, thoughtful, passionate, deep, complicated, wonderful, godly wife. (Then Lauren goes upstairs).
Clay: No really, she’s all those things.
Lauren (from the wings): Ask him what drives him crazy about me.
Clay: Glasses. Why are you always taking my glasses when I’m drinking?
Lauren (from the wings): More! I can take more!
Clay: Video games aren’t as bad as I make them out to be. They’re just a slight distraction to my routine.
Lauren: What else do I like?
Clay: Time with friends. Good books. Hot/lukewarm coffee. Music. My Yorkie. Photography. Travel.

So true, Kat. Let the record show that I couldn’t list ALL the things I like, because it would be a very long list. Besides. Clay was listing them.

She’s the most amazing woman in the whole world. She is proof God loves me and only wants the best for me!

The Lord continues to encourage and love us mightily in answering our prayers very specifically, both as a family and individually. Just today Lauren, ( as she let off a weary Clay ), prayed that he might encourage someone else and be encouraged.
Both were answered visibly, quickly and he was heartened. He shared their mission trip to Yakama with one patient, and asked another if he might pray for him. In turn, both of his listeners were encouraged, and one wanted to pray for Clay as well.
We are grateful to God and to our friends for all the prayers . God hears and He is faithful.

Lauren, I understand how incredibly hard it is to watch your loved one be sick & you can’t do one thing about it except pray. Of course that’s the best thing to do, but we want more instant seeable results. God will teach you both a lot thru this experience–lessons you wouldn’t learn as well any other way. Of course we wouldn’t choose the way He chooses! I’m thinking about you & praying for both of you. Also for your job situation.

Lauren,
You might not remember me from when you were a little girl. Not only have I remembered you, but I was prepared to give my baby your name eleven years ago! Well, my sure-to-be girl (according to doc’s asst.) came out a boy. I figured he would probably appreciate the name Mitchell a little better. You were the most adorable little girl.
I want you to know that I am praying really, really hard for both you and your husband. Stay strong and keep your faith. I hope that your trip goes well for all of you.
With love from your old babysitter,
Linda (Teggins) Whitley
